KM Packaging Joins APCO

Global flexible packaging and lidding films supplier KM Packaging is proud to become a member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO).

We have joined more than 1500 other members that share a common agenda - a commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our packaging.

As members of APCO, we are committed to contributing to the aim of achieving the 2025 National Packaging Targets that include:

  • 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging.
  • 70% of plastic packaging being recycled or composted.
  • 50% of average recycled content included in packaging (revised from 30% in 2020).
  • The phase out of problematic and unnecessary single-use plastics packaging.

John Shipley, Business Unit Director of KM Packaging, said: “As one of the leading suppliers of flexible packaging to the Australian food industry, we welcome the work of APCO. It is an honour to be a member.

“We already provide a number of peelable lidding film structures which are designed for recyclability. And we look forward to collaborating to help keep packaging materials out of landfill and achieving APCO’s vision.”
