C is for ... our high value characteristics

Benjamin Franklin campaigned to have it removed from the alphabet. It can sound like “ess”, “kay”, and “shh”. On its own, it could be centigrade, a century, or a computer language. In fact, since the days of ancient Rome, the letter “C” has been changeable, curious, and central to some confusion.

But, for us, “C” leads into six of the characteristics we value the most highly.

With KM Packaging, you gain the best and most suitable packaging solutions to protect, present, and preserve your products. And we’re able to deliver that promise to you because we continually strive to be:

  • Clever – using our years of knowledge and expertise.
  • Capable – with a strong team of industry experts.
  • Creative – offering imagination, innovation, and original ideas.
  • Consistent – always providing you with the highest level of service and being conscientious when it comes to regulations on food and packaging.
  • Comprehensive – from sustainable mono material solutions to the high-pressure processing of packaged food, we offer a broad range of flexible packaging solutions including one of the most extensive ranges of lidding films available on the global marketplace today.
  • Caring – spending time with your team to fully understand your needs. And also being concerned about the environment by helping you to downgauge your packaging and offering you a choice of mono materials designed for recyclability.

Positive, creative, and innovative

Of course, “C” is also for “Customers”. So, here is what you had to say:

  • Clever – “KM exudes a very high level of market information and product knowledge. The education never stops for me.”
  • Capable – “KM Packaging is a positive, creative, and innovative organisation. And their technical strength puts them in a unique place in the materials supply market.”
  • Creative – “KM is customer-oriented, has great products, stands behind what they sell and is willing to undertake special lab experimentation for unique customer applications.”
  • Consistent – “If KM says they will deliver, they do. In the majority of cases, they exceed delivery expectations.”
  • Comprehensive – “KM are our go-to experts when it comes to all things flexible. They manage the pipeline of supply, so we don’t have to worry. They always find a way of solving any problems.”
  • Caring – “Customer service is excellent. We are made to feel special.”

Former US President Franklin was an advocate of the “ABD”s. As it happens, when it comes to customer service, we “C” things differently.

Shop and drop your flexible packaging

In the Wrap-Up this week … Shop and drop your flexible packaging. The store guide to recycling. Call to halt overseas dumping. Waste producers put in the spotlight. Why litter prevention is essential. And more …

Lifting the Lid on Plastic: How the “greatest thing since sliced bread” became toast

Plastic was once hailed as the greatest thing since sliced bread. It was seen as the miracle product that transformed modern living more than any other invention.

Today, the headlines have a different focus. They now shout about plastics polluting our planet. In actual fact, plastics are not inherently bad and, as well as having a wide range of important uses, they play a vital role in solving many environmental problems.

And a step into the history of plastic also reveals it may have been seen as the greatest thing BEFORE sliced bread as it predates the 1928 baking invention by a number of years.

Meeting the Need for Increased Convenience with KReseal

With the prevalence of snacking between meals noticeably increasing, it’s important for food manufacturers to deliver effective, easy-to-use options that fit into consumers’ busy lives. More and more, consumers want greater choice and variety when it comes to eating, looking not just for an increase in different meal options at home but also a wider array of exciting on-the-go products, such as nuts, seeds and dried fruit. It is therefore vital for food manufacturers to choose safe, functional packaging that offers consumers the convenience they crave.

KM team give their time to help the hungry and lonely

Graduate trainee Konrad Webster is our latest team member to volunteer at FoodCycle, in Peterborough. FoodCycle is a charity project that supports people who are hungry and lonely by providing daily meals across the country.

Konrad was able to participate through our Best Place to Work scheme that was set up to develop the KM Packaging values, both internally and externally, and to be recognised in the community as a responsible company.
