THE BRIEF
Love Yourself are a direct-to-door meal delivery company. Their aim is to make eating healthier, delicious and as easy and convenient as possible. They have a wide variety of meal options, and needed a reliable lidding solution that matched their ethos.
On a practical level, they particularly wanted a lidding film suitable for the microwave re-heating of their fresh ready meal options. Also, the lidding film had to seal to a lined compostable pulp tray.
KM’S SOLUTION
To provide Love Yourself with the ideal solution, several different film options were initially investigated. The list was narrowed during our lab trials before the final most suitable product was identified.
Ketan Shah, of Love Yourself, said: “KM’s Business Development Manager Pete Ford spent a day with us to understand what we did and see what film we required for the sealing of our bespoke trays.
“He then took tray samples back to the lab to test the best seal solution.
“Our main concerns were leakage and the temperature seal during the daily transit of our meals. KM found the film and temperature solutions that works best with our trays. Also Pete came back to test the films on site to make sure we were all satisfied.”
We are continuing to work closely with Love Yourself to evolve the lidding film solution in line with their new product launches and any modifications to their delivery methods. This is especially important as they look to ramp up their delivery network nationwide.
In addition, we have used our experience to provide added-value advice on the procurement of new machinery, methods of working, and factory layout.
A key requirement that we have met is helping to ensure the fresh products reach customers in the same condition they leave the production facility regardless of the mode of delivery. This has been provided in a cost-effective manner, including ongoing support.
