For those customers wishing to reduce their plastic usage, testing has shown that fresh fruit producers could achieve a plastic material reduction of over 90% by moving to a pulp tray sealed with ^KPeel lidding film and by 25% if switching to lidding film with APET tray instead of a clamshell format.

The ^KPeel range’s high-level transparency and clarity create outstanding shelf appeal for fresh produce punnets, such as tomatoes, strawberries and raspberries. An anti-fog option is available, ideal for chilled fresh produce packs, and the range can be printed to give products standout on-shelf presence and provide further branding opportunities. 

Compared to clamshell packaging, a ^KPeel film and tray solution offers improved performance in terms of product preservation. It reduces the issues faced by many produce suppliers in product losing moisture in distribution and ensuring the pack remains the same weight when it reaches the retailer. 

Switching to a ^KPeel film and tray solution can achieve cost savings both in terms of the packaging itself and packaging efficiency as fruit can be packed in punnet and weighed in the field, followed by applying and sealing the lidding film quickly and efficiently in the pack-house. Easy peel and reseal options are also available, offering enhanced consumer convenience. 

The highly versatile ^KPeel lidding film range is suitable for a wide variety of substrates, including heat sealing APET and pulp, or fibre, punnets for those wishing to significantly reduce plastic packaging. Mono PET films are also available for optimum recyclability and the entire range can be supplied slit to the required width or provided in master width for converters.
