Meeting the Need for Increased Convenience with KReseal

Focus Article

With the prevalence of snacking between meals noticeably increasing, it’s important for food manufacturers to deliver effective, easy-to-use options that fit into consumers’ busy lives. More and more, consumers want greater choice and variety when it comes to eating, looking not just for an increase in different meal options at home but also a wider array of exciting on-the-go products, such as nuts, seeds and dried fruit. It is therefore vital for food manufacturers to choose safe, functional packaging that offers consumers the convenience they crave.

Food waste is also a significant concern amongst consumers, with the substantial global rise in single person households, in particular, leading to an increase. Proportionally, single person households waste a staggering 40% more food than average, particularly fresh produce items such as meat and cheese slices, so companies must understand and cater to this consumer group in order to reduce that figure.

Across demographics, there is a general desire for more portion control, more personal choice and more variety that doesn’t compromise freshness. Leading global flexible packaging and lidding film supplier, KM Packaging, has responded to this need with the launch of KReseal PET e AF.

A resealable lidding solution, KReseal PET e AF delivers enhanced multiple peel and reseal capability without losing adhesion allowing food manufacturers to improve consumer convenience and reduce food waste. With KReseal, consumers can buy in bulk safe in the knowledge the food can be re-sealed time and time again.

Part of the KReseal range, the lidding film is capable of sealing to aPET, rPET and some PET-lined pressed board trays (subject to testing), making it the ideal option for a wide variety of foodstuffs. The KReseal lidding film range provides packs with high barrier performance, excellent anti-fog properties and low oxygen permeability making it suitable for MAP applications. Full colour printed solutions are also available, as well as macro holes, hot needle and laser perforation for advanced packaging solutions where applicable.
